Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pretty clear that this thing is headed for endemicity and if it keeps changing its antigenic stripes, we're going to need periodic vaccination, as for flu. We have obviously missed to boat on anything near eradication.

I just saw the story on GMA about counterfeit masks from Mexico and how they could have possibly entered the health system supply line.

High national vaccination rate will definitely lower the spread a lot, but that's months off. The new, more infectious, strains are a real threat in the meantime.

Maybe you should wait until the supply is exhausted, you know, like last March. So fun.

Last night LSS and I were comparing the darkest days of March to the 2001 MD shooter terror which was right in our neighborhood. She remembered trying to serpentine across multi-acre parking lots with our daughter, who tended to take things—shall we say—at her own pace, expecting to take a high velocity bullet at any moment. Fun times.
