Got out for a decent ride.
The rear tire, with bacon strip from the run-in with glass last week, has been holding air like a champ, so I'm just going to let it roll and see iffin that plug stays put and for how long.
Legs felt better than they have all year, too. Not really from a power perspective - I wasn't really hammering it - but from a joint harmony perspective. I've just felt tight, from the hips to the ankles, and my knees have felt out of balance, in particular. The last handful of days, though, I've been stretching and hitting the foam roller at least twice a day, and it's paid off - felt much more supple today. The whole episode has me considering looking in to doing something dumb, like yoga for cyclists.

Oh, and Mpls is armed to the teeth. Saw a bunch of (I assume) National Guard, rifles in-hand, at key points through the city. I'm hoping that they throw the book at this dude and that the Guard has a very boring visit to the cities, though.

So I'm looking at my flybys and... do you remember those experiments when they gave spiders acid and the spiders would spin some ****ed up webs?
I'm thinking, "who the hell would do this for 60+ miles?"
Then it hit me - bike messenger/delivery. I looked at his activity with the time breakdown and yeah - lots of lulls and they're mostly at the same location. Huh. Not a bad day's work, I guess.

Should I get 2 chains and 1 connector to get free shipping? The chain is supposed to work for all 11 speeds. It's budget friendly. Hopefully they will be in stock. Someday I'll be riding again.
Oops, it's a 12 speed connector.
11 Speed same price. vvv

I found the chain to be noisy, but if you don’t mind noise then go for it.

Club ride today. This thing happens to me where I feel strong one weekend and crappy the next. I didn't really feel bad but I blew up trying to stay at the front too long on a 20+ mile climb. Then I had to face the headwind by myself for a few miles. They waited at the turn, I wasn't last, and some even turned back. Then came a couple miles with some 9% and strong headwind. That split everyone apart.
Later when descending the canyon we had swirling wind with tailwinds at times pushing us up to speed. One guy and his wife rode up alone and didn't do all of the climb but in the middle of the descent she motored past me like it was easy. I couldn't summon the energy to go after her, she was flying. Later I asked her if she had a turbo on that bike.
A short section of mup near the end had 2 of us chatting and almost ran over a big red snake.

I feel like I repaid (or maybe prepaid) some karmic debt today.
Helped some folx move a treadmill and an upright piano
The treadmill went from one basement to another, naturally...
