Most of my friends smoked growing up. I never got into it, knowing what I wanted to do with my life.
If people want to smoke in there home that’s cool. I can’t stand the smell of it while driving or riding my bike. It’s literally everywhere. I don’t think my family should have to smell it everywhere we go.

There is something to this argument, but I don't really like people smoking tobacco around me, either. I think tobacco stench "goes over" with people better due to aforementioned social arguments. People are more used to it and accept it.

NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH
I had a plan to ride this morning. Wife and sd/grand have a play date, away. I took the first dose of a two drug combo designed to curb my incessant belching. It pretty much dissembled my digestive tract. It emptied, first, at the porcelain throne, and then from the other end while lying on the bathroom floor unable to move. Ultimately the aroma drove me to crawl into the shower and, to my dismay, see the bulk of the floor area puddled brown. Everything in that puddle got washed. Should I was it again (we only have cold water)? I will spare you the rest, but there is more. I write this missive from my wife’s throne, three Pepto bismol tablets tablets in me. Hoping they are able to do their work reasonably quickly.

Come live in Canada! It's legal / allowed. Funny fact is that we rarely see people doing it in public. Once it becomes tolerated, I guess a proportion of the ''dumb*ss'' category of users aren't excited anymore about doing it since it's not illegal anymore.

Scotch - we like islay/lowland. Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Ardbeg. I want it to smell and taste like swamp. Been into Mezcal for that reason too, smoky/savory/meaty. Bourbon is a bit sweet for me when neat, but I do love a bourbon based cocktail, manhattan, paper plane, boulevardier etc. +1 on the Woodford.
Spirit consumption has gone way down since baby came around. Even before then, I usually just prefer a glass of red most of the time. My favorite wines are made from Syrah (Crozes, Cote Rotie) and Sangiovese (Brunello, Chianti).

During the week, I'm a red wine drinker - Syrah, Zin, and Pinot, mostly. Once in a while, I'll change it up with a NZ Sauv Blanc. Weekend evenings, it's typically Jack and Diet Pepsi.

Exhaled smoke doesn't, though, and certainly not the clothes of a heavy smoker! I'm sure I wasn't too pleasant to be around when I was going through a pack a day.

I always liked the smell of the first puff. A bit less nice was the smell of a cigarette just burning in an ashtray. But there was always a different smell to the smoke that had been through the lungs. I can't quite describe it, but it was different from just tobacco burning.

Pot smoke always has smelled to me like when folks burn leaf piles in the Fall. Skunk is a completely different smell - and having owned one particularly stubborn dog with a penchant for lunging at skunks, I am familiar with that.

I actually don’t leave for work now until Sunday, so I technically don’t have to cram.
Did the 3x15 zone 4 today. Holy crap was that hard. Opted for the colonial parkway, fairly flat, low traffic but might as well be gravel or cobble stones. The ride is extremely rough.
First set my varia camera flew off with 90 seconds left. I stopped, paused the interval and spent 2 mins trying to find it. Once it was found I resumed the rest of the interval. I was pretty angry it was interrupted.
5 mins of rest then set number 2
I really went all in on this set. Tried to keep it on the upper side of zone 4 as much as possible. I also thought it was only 2 sets not three so, I gave this set my everything. Imagine my dismay when I realized I had another one.
5 min rest last set. Was at the bottom of end of zone 4 for most of this set. Had a real hard time locking the power in. What I mean by that is being able to maintain say 240 watts steadily without stairing at my screen. It seems like everytime I looked back down the power would drop off and then I would over compensate to get it back where it needed to be.
Really happy with myself getting this done. Prolly one of the hardest things i’ve done yet on the bike. 30/30s suck but this is just never ending.
Tomorrow i’m going to take it really easy I think. I don’t know if zone 1 is appropriate but that is what I am considering unless LAJ or TMONk thinks it needs to be closer to zone 2.

Both outside ride out at Z1-barely Z2 if at all. Ride back at SS
Starting your week with a leg-drainer is tough, and that's exactly what a 3x15' is. Especially if it's FTP, as a Z4 ride can certainly be under FTP, and it's still painful.
Remember, if you're training, and training for something, the end goal of your training is to train better.

I smoked way too much dope as a kid. It was very bad for me and one of many blessings LSS brought to my life was making me stop in my 20s. Then I was subject to drug testing for about 30 years. I have no desire to try the drug in any form now.

I have that much most nights of the week, usually in the form of wine with dinner. Never any more if I want to do anything meaningful on the bike the next day, which is most of the time really. A couple glasses of red seems to be as much as I can have without any noticeable hangover, and still have drive to push on the bike the next day. Or it's just a baseline, hard to tell.
