Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Did a short ride this morning and now I’m bored. I think I’ll go out and stare at my freshly painted garage.

This range does have a handy LED bar, under the glass, in front of each burner, to indicate that it's on and the relative temp (and to flash at you if you're an idiot trying to use a non-magnetic pan). It's kinda Knight Rider-ish.

I was not bored today. And I don't have a freshly painted garage.

Got another flat on the Basso the other day. Peeled a tyre bead off, yanked the tube, inflated, noted hole on inside, peeked at the rim tape and it's riddled with holes. Skinniest rim tape I have is 25.4, which I guess I could cut lengthwise, but it doesn't sound fun.

Silver lining: tubeless tape should make tyre mounting much easier, they always fit tight on these wheels with ye olde fond de jante from Velox.

About 15 minutes ago, I said to my wife, "Since it's not raining or snowing, I'm going to sneak out for a short ride while the girl is in preschool."

I prepped the bike and laid out the kit.

...and now we've got a wintry mix of rain and snow. With the wind, it looks pretty damn miserable. I'm still haven't ruled out a ride, though, 'cause I'm dumb like that.

Fancy. I have an oldish Viking range and love it.
