My local is in an area where a good number of Temple U. students live. So much unsafe behavior. People walking around in sizeable groups without masks. It's the same way in other areas where there are lots of bars and restaurants.

My son is loving this, of course. He's currently outside building a snow man. And not in that cute, delusionally optimistic way, either... there's actually plenty of snow for the task at this point, and it's coming down harder than before.

This happened earlier this year. Older, male cats are more susceptible, especially if they are overweight like my boy. Dry food can contribute to the condition but won’t necessarily cause it in all cats. Stress from something like moving can also be a cause, but that’s not an issue in his case.
I was good about limiting dry food after the first blockage but got lax. He also gets a special Rx urinary food a couple of times/week. It’s obviously not a fool preventative. When he’s discharged we’re going to have to have a talk about his dry food consumption. He’s not going to like what I have to say.

Sorry to hear that. I've got a male cat with the same problem. Special, stupid expensive food, wet and dry, for urinary and diet control. Also, he gets at least 5mg of Fluoxetine to "destress" him which seems to help.. The vet said our multi_cat house might cause the stress. Haven't had a problem for a long time.

At one time I considered applying to Temple U, home then of my idol Bill Cosby, but Philly was just too close to home for me. So I settled on Texas.

Might see if you can get the C/D prescription food. My poor boy needed the surgery. I also don't think it's a coincidence that he got it almost immediately after moving to San Antonio and its super hard water.
If it helps, he was a super picky eater (would reject almost all dry food and much wet) and he liked both the dry and wet C/D.

I did the opposite. I went away (Western Mass.) for high school and came home for college. My dorm freshman year was fewer than 11 blocks from my mom’s house.
