Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Company issue. I’ll be taking several bandanas on tour for backup, though I suspect fewer people in Pennsyltucky will be wearing them.

He has a possibly very subtle right facial droop but no other motor deficits on facial exam. His palate goes up symmetrically on "Ahhhh," and he has a very minor subjective decreased sensation on his face in V1/V2/V3. No vesicles or rash. Right ear exam looks ok.

So I told him that this was not really clear to me what the diagnosis is. I told him it could be a very early Bell's or a funny trigeminal nerve heralding shingles thing but I am stumped. Since I have doubt I told him to call me in 2 days with an update and gave him a script for antivirals in case he develops a rash.

Any thoughts??
The only thing I would add at this point is a B. burgdorferi titer and I'd see him back in a week or sooner if anything worsens.

Edit: As the eminent Dr. LAJ points out, methylprednisolone is indicated early if this declares itself as a Bell's palsy.

I actually already did that too. Will let you know what pans out. It may go away but it may be too early to declare itself.

Prednisone isn't a mouse drug.

My company sent us five white cotton ones a few months ago. I was surprised they weren’t branded, and even more surprised that any teams at the Tour are using plain white. Seems like an obvious place to continue the team colors and sponsors.

We got facial underwear from our employer too. They're too small and pull my ears out of shape.

The only fancy mask I have is one my niece sent (possibly made?, it wasn't clear) which has treble clefs on it. (Apparently trumpets weren't available)

That would have been the max temp for the ride, and no warmth from sunshine, either. It always takes me a few weeks of cool weather to get reacclimated.

I also have a mask with the shop logo. It's in the wash right now.

How does the apple sauce become apple butter? Do you put it in a churn?

Related to recent discussions...

...Mrs. rjones28 made crepes for lunch today. There was no maple syrup involved.
