Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

yes - start a thread but only if you intend to include chain lubes

btw - I think the quick link on my 11 spd Cdale chain looks like the one you have (no arrow) ... gotta look again

Thanks.

Do you remember what the usual incubation period is? I was at my local on Sunday watching the Phillies game. While I spent much of the time outside, I was inside for periods. The place was really crowded, and there were a lot of young people there. Had minor digestive problems I think both Monday and Tuesday night. Wonder if that's where I got it.

Took the cat to the vet yesterday after procrastinating for a while. Don't have the labs back yet but the bottom line seems to be he is old. He's lost a lot of muscle and can't jump anymore. I hate seeing him like this but I hate facing the inevitable loss of a pet even more. I still think about a dog I lost 40 years ago.
Here he is resting after a difficult day of being poked and prodded.

Ugh, I hope you feel better ASAP. I advise against Paxlovid and monoclonal antibodies. Most people feel better in 3-4 days. Exposure was likely 3 days before symptom onset FWIW.

PM me if anything I can help with

Maybe "What Chain Lube Goes Best With Counterfeit Chains?"

The arrow is only for Shimano quick links.

Thanks. I’m just going to ride it out.

People have offered to bring me groceries since I don’t usually have a lot of stuff in the house for meals. I tend to shop every day for fresh stuff. But I do have enough to get me through breakfast tomorrow morning.

My advice is fluids, tylenol as needed, rest, and snuggle your kitty cat. You will likely feel improvement in 2-3 days. Maybe even sooner.

Pets become a part of our lives, but we are ALL of theirs. If you have given your kitty a loving, comfortable, and safe home, with good snacks, you have done it right. I hope the rest of your time with your kitty is peaceful and full of warm snuggles.

Sorry to hear it, indy. I went through it a few weeks ago. There were 2 days that really sucked, and then a slow progression to better. My lungs finally feel like they're clear of the lingering crap. I hope you recover quickly.

Just snuck out to the LBS and got a genuine 11s Shimano Ultegra level chain. It was $41.99 plus tax.

If I have time tonight, I will do a side-by-side pictorial of real next to fake for the benefit of the 41. Once you know the differences, it's quite obvious.

Fake chains? Sad!

Im looking for 105 shifters. So many on ebay shipping directly from china. Makes me wonder.

Since I put the new cassette chain and chainrings on my cervelo sometimes doesn’t upshift.

it doesn’t sound like it’s skipping, i’ll shift and it takes one or two pedal strokes before it shifts. It never did this before, doesn’t do it every time, maybe 7 out of 10. Anything I can do? I would say it’s between 8-7-6 cogs.

Maybe your chain is counterfeit?

Your chain line has probably changed. I suggest Googling the setup procedure for your FD and following as much of it as needed.

This actually makes a lot of sense. When we put the new crank on the small ring still wanted to eat my frame so they had to put a spacer behind the crank. We never readjusted the derailers.

I have always used KMC chains and have had no issues. But please buy from a reliable source. I usually get from Merlin in UK or Excel ( I think this is about the same or less than you paid):
