Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

interestingly, my two kids have inherited this as well. they wilt almost instantaneously in heat/humidity, but argue endlessly about not needing a jacket here. or, maybe that’s because they never stop bouncing around.
Since my riding is basically Woodside/Portola Valley, I get used to riding in heat, but it's been decades since I've had to deal with humidity. Years ago, Mrs. GJ and I were going Back East to visit family in PA and Western New York. I shipped a bike to Mom and Dad's place. It was summer, but not hot, just in the 80s, but humid. It was so strange. The air was palpable. Even a fast descent didn't really cool you off much - not like here where a mile of descent dries all the sweat!

But If we're going to move back there when I retire, I'm gonna have to reacclimatize myself.

Garmin says you can use the 357 battery in the Vectors, so I would assume it is OK in the rally:

Well!! I just got my bloodwork results. The last two times I have records for, 2017 and 8-9 months ago, my triglycerides were 215 and 217. My doctor wanted to put me on pills this last time. I opted for dietary change, to see what I could do. I mostly cut out sugar, cheese, and butter, and stepped up on nuts and seeds, and bell peppers. And exercise. The results? 60. My cholesterol is down 20 points as well, at 164. The two types of cholesterol are not separated out, here. The lab tech thought that was quite normal, for someone who is paying attention and trying to get it down.

Don’t do anything but the CR1/3N- the others can have data drops etc. because you need two batteries per pedal

did that the next year - same ride - but this time with a lightweight bright yellow PI shell ... Zephyr or something like that ... returned a few days later to get the coat and it was gone ... super bummed ... but on the way out of the park I realized I had hidden it in a different spot - and then found it ...

maybe someday I’ll fit in that coat again

So the CDC COVID-19 metric used to help determine if masking should be mandatory or optional in healthcare settings (which BTW is "community transmission" NOT "community level") has dropped in my area (finally!) from "high" to "substantial" which means that healthcare facilities may decide to go mask-optional. We are still fully masked in my practice but I am hopeful it will transition to mask optional soon. I honestly don't mind the mask and likely will continue even if/when the change happens, but I know my patients are quite weary of it and most would welcome the option to unmask.

Take that, Big Pharm! Job well done.

What about your glucose? I keep close track of my numbers as well, but not Triglycerides which are usually only in the upper 40s. My last glucose was 98 (borderline), tot Cholesterol was 207, and A1C was 5.9 (borderline). I have an appointment this month to check all my levels. This is the stuff I get meticulous about.

If we EVER drop the masking requirement I will be pleasantly surprised. At least, as of this month, we are no longer being asked about symptoms and give "screened" stickers at all entrances to the building.

Per the CDC you guys could consider going mask optional. I know things move in slow motion there.
