I hit my 38 season average last week of 6150 miles per year. I can coast the rest of the year.

The crux of an article about last night's Jeopardy! controversy. Discuss amongst yourselves. The category was Oscar-winning films. The clue was: “The first words spoken in this 1970 Best Picture Oscar winner are ‘Ten-hut!’ ‘Be Seated.’” The correct response, according to the show, was “What is Patton?”
Many fans argued that the correct answer was actually Midnight Cowboy. Midnight Cowboy did in fact win the 1970 Academy Award for Best Picture. Patton won the 1971 Academy Award for Best Picture.
Patton debuted in 1970, so technically it is a film from that year. However, as the clue is phrased it does seem like the disgruntled fans have a point. The “1970 Best Picture Oscar winner” was Midnight Cowboy, even though the film came out in 1969.

Someone on the woodworking site related how they refurbished and sold a couple of hand planes... to a woman that he met while they were both shopping hand planes in a woodworking specialty retailer. What a ******g slimebucket. That kind of **** gets me heated.

After the L.A. Rams finally scored against the Cowboys, trailing by 20+ points with just 3 minutes left in the game, the network played a snipet of the song “California Dreaming”. Ouch! So cold.

I've got a short week to get ready for the trip to the in-laws. I'm thinking that I'll let it rest until I get back - if there are still some available in a 56, I'll probably find an way to justify it. While Hummer is right that I lust after a fully internally wired front end, I would still see the R3 as an upgrade. I could probably sell the Domane frame and have an out-of-pocket upgrade cost of 500-ish dollars, which is pretty reasonable, I think.

So the diagnosis is in. I have an acute case of upgradeitis. Contador is getting red 22 whifi 11 speed etap. Also compacting the front chain rings slightly, 50 / 34. With an 11 32 cassette out back.
I have also decided to build back my 09 tarmac. It was disassembled to donate parts to the disk build , but only the handle bars, and seat post were used. New bars are on the way.
4 bikes again.
The addiction grows.

I did a little shopping cart investigation - they only have 3 frames left in the red, 1 in the yellow (which I'm not fond of, anyway). So yeah, not likely for those to stick around for long. Oh well, I'll have to catch a deal some other time.

Got snow last night, nothing serious but a nuisance 3” or so. Supposed to be a few more in a couple days. Looks like my trainer is going to be in demand this week.

I peeped the forecast - looks like I should have decent weather for riding. I have half a mind to shoot for the Festive 500, but not sure how that would work out - it would certainly be one of my biggest 8-day stretches ever in terms of mileage kilometerage and, while I have been on the trainer regularly, I haven't logged that much saddle time in the last 6+ weeks.

Yesterday's HR data indicated a 189 point training load for a leisurely, windy, 30 mi solo with 1500' of vertical, based on my indoor performance with power measurement. It felt fine, but that seems like a lot stress for an old geezer when most of the training programs recommend something in the range of 350-400/wk for Masters off-season. I guess that's what I get for looking at the numbers.
