Can the front suspension fork on a Schwinn Trailway be adjusted?
I am looking at a Schwinn Trailway and wondering whether the front suspension fork resistance can be adjusted. Please let me know. Thanks.

current box store bike, $249 retail... IF there is any adjustment on the fork, it will not do anything to the damping rate, only the preload of the springs, and that won't change much either.... kinda doubt it even has that "adjustment".
you could possibly put thicker grease in that type of fork.
if you haven't bought it yet, go find a much better bike used, for less money or the same price... you will be much happier!

There are no adjustment can be done to these fork . If the OP is looking for that feature he need to look for a different bike or elsewhere .

I had one I bought new from Target in 2008 which did have an adjustment. look at the top of the cartridges. do you see a black cap with a flat bar? you can turn that clockwise and they will tighten right up

Seen plenty of dept store bikes with fake adjustment knobs on top. Just plastic caps with nothing underneath.

Right, beware of the 'dummy' caps on top of the forks. Schwinn does this with the Trailway. They should be ashamed. A once respectable bike brand gone to crap. We need to be loyal to quality, NOT brand!

No...those knobs will have zero affect on the spring rate of that fork. Will not happen.
