It’s another rainy day so I did an hour of fake miles in the basement. Luckily my club’s ride coordinator posts group club rides on Zwift so I had some company. He also adds a companion Zoom meeting which works out well.
On a sadder note, one of my cycling friends who rode with us yesterday went directly from the ride to his girlfriend’s house in Philadelphia and left his bike in the car….and it got STOLEN! This is a custom Seven with CF/Ti frame and Dura-Ace Di2, so a really nice bike.
He has a tracker on the bike and knows the location, working with the Philadelphia police to try to get it back. I hope he gets it and that it’s intact.
Bike theft sucks.

I’d be interested to hear if/how the police follow up on it.

As you age, you will find yourself unable to sleep through the night, due to arising every few hours, if you’re lucky, every hour if you are not, and going to the bathroom to urinate. And your stream, night or day, will be weak and intermittent. Unlike the strong stream you currently take for granted.

datlas I am also quite interested to see how the bike theft story goes. Makes me wonder if I should get air tags for some of my bags that I travel with!
Looks like there is another storm coming through San Diego EOW next week, so more fake miles are in my future as well. I guess the last one brought multiple inches in a short time window and caused major flooding and damage in low lying areas. My wife and I live on a mesa and were not driving at all during those days so I didn't really notice. There was tiny breaks in the rain that coincided with my EOD work hours so I was still able to walk to work. More puddles on the ground than usual.

Woke up with RHR 57 and BB 52. Not as good as yesterday, but good enough to run again. Managed to do four miles again, felt much worse than yesterday but somehow was almost exactly the same by metrics. So that's the new best pair of days post-Covid. Slow progress...

In GTP, the checkered flag had a bit of a surprise appearance, but I doubt another lap would've allowed the Cadillac to take the lead back. The Caddy was looking pretty good before that last yellow. The Caddies were doing really well during daylight hours yesterday, then the Euro cars started coming on strong. It was Porsche in the lead, followed by 3 BMWs when I went to sleep.

I’ll pick the niners and the Ravens. See if I can go 0/6. In truth, I can’t call the Ravens/Chiefs game, but I can’t go 0/6 if I don’t. It’s tempting to watch that game in full, but I really don’t want to give up that much of my day.
