So much misinformation so little time. First 30 miles isn't a long enough ride that you should have any issues. Numbness, ED and lowered libido are three separate but inter-related things. Numbness is a nerve issue, ED a blood vessel issue. The average sports medicine doc is either orthopedically or family medicine trained and doesn't know much about any of these, a urologist(like me) is who you should be seeing. Unlikeliy its a Testosterone issue given your age but easy to check. A one time problem can occur with anyone, you don't say whether its ongoing on not. See a urologist.
LOL, I wear padded Rapha Pro Team bibs.

Well...the purpose of steroids is to trick, if you will, the testicles into not producing testosterone. Anabolic steroids stop sperm production. Which is the opposite of what I believe you wrote.
Voigt's doping solution | Cyclingnews.com I realize it's old, but it still applies.
I was not aware that Jens was using anabolic steroids. Must have missed that.

Seriously, ED can be by psychological and/or physical. Sounds like yours is the later. The good news is that it can be more easily treated with medication.

Take a look at Selle SMP saddles. For me they are very comfortable and no pressure on any parts and the dropped nose puts no pressure on the baggage.

I got nothing. I am not a doctor, sorry. I used to pretend to be one, because they won't let real doctors go where they shoot at you and they never called me about junk problems

It's difficult to find the exact cause but factors like cycling and aspirin have been associated with ED in some cases. I faced a similar issue last month and it prompted me to explore solutions. Eroxon gel proved to be effective in addressing the concern. It's essential to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the reason and discuss potential lifestyle adjustments.

Hello guys,
I cycle 30 miles everyday and as a disabled vet I my knees and back are jacked so I take lots of aspirin (Bayer Back & Body). I was with a young lady that im seeing (monogamous) and one night and I could not perform. I also noticed I dont get excited as I once did and iv always had a very strong sex drive. Went to the doctor to see if I could get some advice. After an exam the doctor concluded that my long bike rides and aspirin could be the culprit.
Be the person I am, I came home and did my own research and sure enough I found research that backed what doc is saying.
I ask you guys because this is a cycling forum, have any of you experienced erectile disorder and feeling cycling could be the cause. If so, have you encounter any successful remedies.
FYI, I'm 36.

Many individuals who are familiar with this fish claim that it is attracted to the scent of urine, and will attempt to take a direct root to reach the source of the smell. In other words, once the source of the smell is located, it is said that the fish swims up through the stream of urine coming from the urethra and heads into the organism's urinary tract. Here, it permanently lodges itself to feed on blood.

I guess it's either resolved or irrelevant.

Starting off by realizing it's a zombie thread, but for anybody else who's looking for answers...
A month away from 39. Been on aspirin for nearly 4 years at this point. Weekly mileage in the ~100mi range. Neither of those seem to be an issue in the bedroom.
However, if the cycling is making you tired, fatigued, and dehydrated, those can definitely impact things down there. When I lived in NYC (and pre-aspirin), the first couple of hours after a 10k run were not the time to get it on (significantly lower cycling mileage in NYC). I just wanted to drink water and veg out (or sleep). These days, we recognize that immediately after a 30-50mi ride isn't the best time for indoor fun. OP may just have to schedule his rides so he has enough time to relax/rest/hydrate afterwards.
Not saying long rides with bad saddle/shorts combo can't cause issues. But that will usually show up as numbness that the OP didn't have. Def make sure you have the right gear picked out for longer rides...

Was it a lot of trouble to get NIH funding for your own research? That can be a significant challenge even for the best in the field.
