Powertap freewheel body - Campa or Shimano
Hi all
I am about to buy a used wheelset with Powertap hub. Seller says it is Shimano freewheel body, but colour is Champagne. On powertaps website it seems like all champagne colored freewheel bodys are Campa. And Shimano is black.
It is a Powertap G3.
Best regards
Michael

Ask seller to double check. A closeup picture would clarify.

Same color for all freehub bodies they sell. If the seller says it's shimano then it's probably Shimano. If it's not the one you need replacements are readily available

It is easy to tell. Campy splines are wider, thicker and "undercut" next to the freehub body so that the cassette locks in place underneath the edge of the spline. The Shimano splines are narrower and have straight sides intersecting the freehub body. Look up some rear hubs on the internet of both kinds and you will see the difference.

I forgot they ended up going to anodized bodies at some point. The fact though is that the color is meaningless. It's either a shimano or campy.
