Need a new fork- advice?

Looking to get a 26" suspension fork with 1 1/8" steerer and canti studs.

This will be for a build up of an unused old frame. Itll be ridden a dozen or so times a year just for fun and not competitively.
I dont want an expenive fork and dont need an expensive fork.

So, anyone have experience with the fork below? Or does anyone have a different suggestion for a fork that's under $200 which meets the build needs?

Rockshox Recon Silver Turn Key Solo Air

For what you want it will be fine, probably the best out there for your specs.

I can't really imagine you're going to do better than that. RockShox makes good air forks.

You have a lot of options used, not too many new.

There is another RS fork that is cheaper, but it is coil:

RockShox 30 Silver TK Fork 26" 100mm Coil 9MMQR 1 1 8" Steerer Disc or Rim Brake | eBay

A fork under $200 is On the very low - cheap end of the retail market

You Lose lots of features that push the price higher than you are willing to pay Like /.. Lockout It's just a spring and some elastomers..

Maybe its time for a suspension corrected Rigid fork? Or triple that Budget.

'/,
What sort of fork could he get with triple the budget that meets his requirements: rim brakes, 1-1/8 steerer?

You noticed that the fork he suggested is an air fork with adjustable rebound and lockout? Then why post stuff like,"it's just a spring and some elastomers."...?

'/,
I understand its on the low end of the market. It is hardly the lowest price, not close, but its even farther from the high end. Im aware.
The fork i asked about has what you mention a $200 fork wont have. So are you just responding without knowing anything(typical bob) or are you saying the specific fork i asked about is bad and the features dont work or are low quality for what i want to do?

So I think that the RS linked to in the original post is just about the nicest fork you can still buy new with V-brake bosses.

The exception would be this one:

Manitou R7 MRD 100mm ABS Milo 26" MTB Bike Disc Fork White with Remote Lockout | eBay

I think it's a bit better fork, but it's a tad over the OP's budget.

Also available in black, both are Taiwan sellers tho.

"Mr. Madison, what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."
