Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Why is the 2.0 model priced higher than the original?

Not much difference if you go to the components and specs. They appear to be the same components on both bikes but the 2.0 has some parts anodized. If that's worth $20 to you, choose the more expensive model. They do have the cohones to list an approximate weight of 25 pounds which many of the larger companies do not , leaving you in the dark when it comes to the bike weight. Not bad weight for a sub $300 bike. And, they have three frame sizes to choose from. So many entry level bikes are "one size fits all" which is pure bull.

Sorry I just realized I phrased my question wrong.
I meant why is the original more expensive than the 2.0 model?
I would expect newer models to be better. And it seems, from your answer, that the cheaper model (the 2.0 one) is in fact better which is counter intuitive. Do you have any idea as to why this is?
