Trail bell anyone?
I am thinking of putting a trail bell on my MTB. I know yelling "on your left" is free and adds 0 gram to the bike, but more alert to other trail user can't be a bad thing.
Anybody have trail bell on their bikes? Which one do you recommend?

I just use a standard bear bell

My friend has the Timber bell and it is a lot nicer, but more money

The only real requirement would be to get one you can silence.

I have an Incredibell on my bar for longer distance alerting. I also have a velcro strapped bear bell/jingle bell on my bar. I like it as it's not too loud yet hikers and bikers can hear it down trail without spooking them. It has a magnet that silences the bell on climbs if I choose.

I used to have a couple of 'jingle bells' on my mtb, the idea being that other riders, hikers, hunters, etc would hear them as I approached.
I ditched them after twice encountering hunters on the trail, and stopping to ask them if they heard me coming. Both said no, not until I was within sight.
YMMV
Good luck.

I use an Incredibell Brass Duet, I use it quite a ways back from pedestrians, especially if they are walking a dog.

Expensive, but incredible bell. Nice sound that is audible for a long way. I use one of these on the cart paths to keep from being run over.

I had an incredibell once. My riding buddies thought it was hilarious when the bell would ding while I was crashing. This happened a lot...

Little warning though: this bell doesn’t work when you’re wearing thicker gloves.
