Trev Sears - New to the forum
Hi all,
I’m from the UK but lived in mainland Europe for the last 30 years, now splitting my time between deepest rural France (Limousin) and Chilean Patagonia.
I’ve been more into classic cars (Alfa and Lancia) but just lately picked up a vintage Koga Miyata 10-speed (late 1970s?) for 5 EUR from a Dutch guy emptying his house in France, and then a few weeks ago I couldn’t resist paying 20 EUR for an old 1970s Motobecane 10-speed in a junkyard-recycling centre here in France (I saw it had tubulars and good rims so just put it in the back of the trailer).
So I’ve got into cleaning up these 2 bikes and learning how to glue tubulars, adjust derailleurs and fit new brake and gear cables etc and riding them around the quiet roads here.
Hopefully it doesn’t develop into a full-blown addiction but for now it’s a fun diversion during these testing coronavirus times.
Changing gears on the downtube shifters is something I need to improve soon otherwise I’ll be checking out the numerous hedges around here😂
Thats about it from me, been enjoying picking up tips from the forum so far.
Cheers
