Shimano Ultegra Hollowtech 2x10 to 2x11
Hi There,
My first time posting, so hopefully am not breaking any etiquette.
I have a Shimano Ultegra SGX FC-600 50/34F 170mm 2x10 Speed Compact Crankset.
All my components are 10 speed Ultegra but next year I'll be upgrading all the components to 11 speed Ultegra with a new Wheelset.
I am changing over the threaded BB right now and need to replace crankset. If I keep it a 170mm 50/34 compact crank, can I make the jump on the 2x11 crankset right now, while keeping everything else 10 speed? Is the best way to go about this to visit Shimano website, pick the crankset I want, and then read the tech specs to see if all the dimensions are the same between my old one and new one?
Any help here would be appreciated,
Thanks! Simon

If you have to replace the crank set you can probably get either 10 or 11 speed crankset. My son's Trek Emonda has a Tiagra 4700 10 speed crank and front DR, but everything else is 105 5800 11 speed.

10-speed crank and chainrings work perfectly with otherwise 11-speed shifters/derailleurs/cassettes. I kept my 10-speed Ultegra crank when I upgraded my bike to 11-speed.

If you have to replace the FC-600 crank then buy the 11-speed crank you want and use it with your current 10-speed everything else. If you are replacing the crank just because you plan to go to 11-speed later, don't bother since that FC-600 crank will work just fine with the 11-speed components.

I am replacing because all of the components are worn and need to be replaced But it is still a great bike frame!
Thank you to everyone that responded, really helped!
