Snow Day
Tried riding in the snow over the weekend. Turns out it's hard. LOL I'm a clydesdale on 27.5+ tires. 7" of snow crushed me for the day. 3.6 miles in 38 minutes of riding time. Total ride was 1 hr 45 min. Oh well, at least I got a nice pic out of it.

Sometimes I wonder: If the snow isn't very deep, I wonder if narrow road-bike tires might be better, to just "saw" through the snow? Seven inches is a lot of snow however.

I've ridden my road bike through patches of snow longer than my wheelbase and about an inch deep. You basically try to have enough momentum going in that you can coast through without pedaling. Any unsettling of balance can cause a crash. Pedaling or a bump in the pavement can send your tire sideways and into a crash. Throwing in the nervous fear of crashing during those few seconds will get your heartrate up too.
