Florelli Novi Bike Help

I purchased a box of many parts and not sure if they were mostly from one bike.

My only clue was a decal from a Florelli Novi and I know very little about these early bikes.

I did find some info on the Florelli Coppi Milano-Sanremo bikes.

The following list are the parts included and I believe all circa 1970:

Agrati bike crank

Campy Valentino Extra FD RD

Berthet Lyotard HTF Quill pedals

Dia-Comp Brake Levers on vintage drop bars

Mafac Racer brakes

vintage headset and bottom bracket

Can post pictures of the bits if that would help

I did find the below BF thread which is for a Fiorelli Novi L. bike approx two decades earlier than the parts.

Not sure how long the fiorelli novi l. production ? Below probably explains.

juvela provided a detailed analysis including:

"As regards dating, the second half of the 1960's seems the most likely."

"Novi Ligure is place name where the firm is located. Although it appears on the head emblem it is not part of the brand name. Factory also produced cycles by other names such as Vittoria and Coppi."

Novi Ligure is not a subtitle or model name

it is the company's location

Thanks for the link.
I have learned the most from your responses and prior posts (see my 2nd post above where I quoted this explanation from your post years ago)

btw -

forgot to mention that cycles labeled Coppi are done by Fiorelli while those labeled Fausto Coppi are done by Masciaghi -

Produzione Cicli F.lli Masciaghi, Coppi, Girardengo, Mash ...
https://www.masciaghi.it

Fiorelli was a joint sponsor with Gazzola of a professional racing team for a time in the early 1960's

here is an image of the teams' star rider, Charly Gaul of Luxembourg, competing in the Giro d'Italia of 1961 -

Photos of frame details, as well as a measurement of the seat post diameter will help you get an idea of the quality of the frame. Fiorelli made a wide range of bicycles, from kid's bikes to grocery getters to touring bikes to a few high-end racing bikes.
Edit: Apologies; I didn't see that you don't have a frame. It is possible the parts all came from a lower-end Fiorelli. I've had one that was similarly equipped in the past.

Yes, looks like the kind of frame and setup that my parts would matchup with.

agree that the bicycle your fittings came from probably was kitted very close to the blue bicycle posted by Hudson308

items in your box which would not have come with the bicycle in its ex-works state:

Berthet pedals

Dia-Compe brake levers

MAFAC brake calipers

---

on the blue bicycle in the photo the brakeset is Balilla

the pedal set is Sheffield Nr. 663

the stem/bar set is 3TTT Tourist

juvela Not sure what the story is for the Berthet pedals but the brake levers and bars are probably this setup that was also part of the parts collection.

Here's a poor pic of mine, with a 9spd STI experiment. I think mine is ~'60. Original equipment included Fiorelli-branded Magistroni cottered cranks/rings, Campy Grand Sport FD, Ambrosio I-beam stem, Universal brakes.

hello joesch -

thanks very much for posting these good lever photos

have seen these on a number of lower model Italian built cycles through the years but have never known a name or model name for them

they are distinctive with the chromed steel lever

note how the pivot pin is crimped/swaged to the lever body

Rizzato (Atala/Lygie) used them to pair with Weinmann centrepull calipers

all the examples have encountered were on cycles near to 1970

this makes me wonder if they may have only been produced for a short time

we have so many outstanding minds on the forum perhaps a a reader will see them and say "oh, of course, those were done by _____"

for comparison here are some catalogue pages illustrating the Universal 300 series model levers -

note that on them the pivot pin, part number 359, threads into the lever body
