First try at painting road shoes.

Good day all,

For your enjoyment, or derision! First try at painting road shoes. The shoes were getting tired appearance wise after three seasons of use. Were mostly white & gray. Pretty happy with results of brush painting. Obviously, I'm a big fan of hi-vis shades. Two color coats with semi gloss sealer. Do like how original grey details showed thru color. Primer coat would have hidden the grey. Would definitely try this again. Angelus brand leather paint from Blick Art Supply.

I like bright colors too. Glad to see others don't mind being seen!

I actually like the stuff showing through.

Not bad! Looks like there’s a little uneveness, but geez, for a first effort, I’d say that’s pretty excellent!

That actually looks terrific! I’d be interested to see how the paint holds up over time.

Looking good. As above, be interesting to see how it wears and if it bleeds out into your socks.

Not bike shoes, and didn't see hard use, but I've painted dance shoes with Angelus (silver, admittedly not day-glo colors) and never saw bleed onto my socks.

Thanks! It won't bleed through. This is paint, not a dye.

Thanks! My thoughts exactly, how will it hold up!? Will have to wait for weather to break. The finish, semi-gloss cost is supposed to help prevent cracking and wearing off.

Thanks! Think most of the unevenness is due to wear and tear on material I covered. There are wear marks from BOA wire, rub marks creases and scraps the paint really couldn't cover.
