The bike/trike/toy is all there and not in horrible condition. That said, the big issue is a badly damaged rear wheel...


Has anyone got a rear wheel for this old toy that they would be willing to sell or trade? If so, a PM would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I am pretty sure that a bit of Mother's Cleaning Wax, coupled with elbow grease, will shine up the sun faced plastic surfaces. Time will tell.


My grandson already tried the bike out and he is into the project. If it looks like the restoration might prove interesting, I will follow up in this thread. And, believe it or not - I am, kinda, looking forward to this restoration..?

I would look to the drift trike lads for help, their wheel sleeves may be the big save for that broken wheel.

Cut some 1" x 12" plastic strips from an old 5-gallon plastic bucket. Use a propane torch to light one end of the strip on fire and use the dripping molten plastic candle to "weld" the cracked wheel back together. Practice a bit first on similar plastic, be careful not to ignite or overheat the base plastic being repaired. If it overheats, it will collapse the overheated area. Keep a damp rag and spray bottle onhand to quench areas that get overheated. Once the wheel is somewhat structural sound, fabricating and adding a plastic ring/band around the old tire to re-tread it would also add some structural integrity. I don't think the re-tread band would even need tread patter, smooth surface will be better for sideways drifting, something like; https://drifttrikefactory.com/shop/u...-hdpe-sleeves/
