Raleigh Team Record
I’m on the fence about buying a Raleigh Team Record frame which I’ve seen for sale. The bike has 531 decals on the frame and forks, and Campy dropouts. The lugs have cutouts on the upper sides, and the frame appears to be in decent condition, the original paint has only a few blemishes. It’s in my size, and as I love 531 frames, I’m sorely tempted to buy it. Anyone know anything about these bikes?

Great frame I believe this would be one of last 531 fully tempered frame set made at the Nottingham workshop if all the decals and paint are correct.

IME, buying frames to build up only works out financially if you have the time/tools/aptitude/pile of parts in hand. Otherwise, you will be so upside down $$ wise.

It looks a lot like my 1978 Raleigh Professional as far as the frame goes , not the paint scheme. They ride great once built up , but if you don’t already have the parts , it will be more than the bike is worth . I had most of the parts for my Pro already and ended up paying $150 for the frame, fork , Campy headset , and Campy BB. It is not the team colors so there’s that but the iconic Steel Blue ( same as Mink Blue). I mention this as a reference only. Joe

+1 on build cost not many have bunch of Campy or Raliegh branded Suntour/SR late 70's part laying around and the current prices on Ebay semi insane.
