bummer week!!

I am bumbed out big time this week!!

I was going to ride my age on Tuesday but I could not get the day off so I figured out since I would ride today since I have today off. Well on Monday night I crashed and hurt my hand and can't hold the handle bar at all so I have not been on the bike since Monday night.

And I did not not even a happy birthday from any of the family nada zip zilch! I guess I should not have expected anyone to rememeber.

With the hurt hand I don't know if I going to make my 1000 miles by New Year. I got 310 miles to go.

But I do have the day off! so there is some good.

Joe

Taylor8 - Sorry to hear of your woes. But at least you do look to the bright side that you have a day off. As you can tell, I am in the office slaving away.

The "ride your age on your birthday" is certainly fun. I enjoyed it alot this summer as it provided me with a real goal. You can still work towards this as many riders couldn't manage it on their true birthdays. Just keep at it. As far as 310 before New Year's, that should be an attainable goal. 150 miles each month. I don't know what you have been riding per month, but 150 should not be a real stretch.
Good Luck! Oh!, bye the way, Happy Birthday!!!

Taylor8,
Happy Birthday!

Sorry about the hand....setbacks help you grow patience (yeah, right).

I live here in Modesto...if you want to go for a ride together some time, let me know.
David.

310 in 6 weeks, you'll just have to wait for the fine day to come along and take a sickie. That will help, or find a Tandem rider and offer to stoke for him, or borrow a trainer and ride in the comfort of the garage or easiest of all- put two magnets on your front wheel to double your milage.

Sorry about the hand, but that will heal. When it does- just get out and ride.
