Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So here is my new bike ya'll!

Here is my new baby, Mistress Tarmac. I got cheap when a LBS went out of business last week. Their loss my gain!

Here it is on the trainer, with flipped stem

nice

I gotta say, in spite of my tendency to retro-grouchiness, these new Specialized models are quite nice, asthetically. I do like that curved and tapered toptube and generally the balanced asthetic of the entire bike.
What size is yours?
Which Model is this? Tarmac Pro?
The cosmetics, as modern bikes go, isn't overdone and it compliments the frame construction.
I considered getting one earlier this fall, but fell back to going with some newer version steel.

On this morning training group ride, one of the young guys was on a S-works Tarmac DuraAce. Gotta say it quickly caught my eye. Didn't get a chance to chat it up, since we were mostly hauling in the Big Ring, and its hard to talk when your tongue is scraping the front wheel...
What really got me to appreciate these bikes are the dims they are building them in, very sensible and well proportioned. And it looks like they even give you a good stem length to start with.

Let us know how the ride quality is and impression on the overall tighness and quality as you put some miles on it.

One of the top 5 bikes I'd have if I had unlimited funds. Congrats.

Oh and it's a tarmac comp, but since it's 2005 it has ultegra flight deck and rear derailleur. And the bed isn't made today cause, the maid had the day off.
