i am 194lbs and was thinking of going from mavic aksium which are 2007 Mavic Aksium Road Wheelset

Size: 700c

Rim: Mavic Aksium

Rim Color: See Drop Down for Options

Hub: Mavic

Hub Color: Match Rim Color (see drop down)

Bearing: Serviceable Sealed Cartridge Bearings

Spoke Count: Front 20, Rear 24

IMO, 32-spoke rear, 28-spoke front hand-built wheels would probably be best for someone your weight. Maybe open pro rims laced to Ultegra hubs (about $200 at performance). Expensive wheels are over-hyped, and I do not believe they are necessary for training. Many pros train on wheels with open pro rims. Velocity deep-v is another rim option that I have no experience with but have heard good things about.

they will come out of true often. trust me, go with something like elites.
