Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? return it and spend 15 more.

Don't take my word for it---wait until you get a flat and can't pump more than 20 psi in your tires.

I agree about the colour; it is subtle and does not kill my eyes at first glance, haha.

The toestraps! Where did you get them? I can't find tan/honey anywhere exept velo-orange, and those are sold out and the guy doesn't know when (or if) he will get more.

they are the original KKT Japanese straps from the mid eighties. They are still pretty nice. I really have no idea where you could find some...I was looking for some to replace these, but couldn't, so I just cleaned them as best as possible.

Being an old guy I always carried a nice, big, pump... ya know, the kind that actually WORK!! But having just tried out a CO2 cartridge for the first time, I say... return the pump and go for the gas!

Some of those pumps work just fine. I have a Blackburn Mountain Air, and I can get about 80 psi, when neccesary. That'll get me home even when I'm riding the bike with the 21 mm tyres.

I use mountain bike mini pump and can get 80-90 lbs in, but the last few strokes are pretty hard.

Which is equally, if not more useless. Go buy a Topeak road morph and be done with it.

It's a topeak masterblaster road or mountain pump. Pumps my tires up fine.

More important than the pump, I'd recommend keeping an eye on your chain/cassette setup. I did that once on a bike and the chain ghost-shifted down to a larger cog and bent the hell out of my frame. I'm guessing a non-shifiting chain like a 3/32" BMX chain would reduce the risk.

That pump is fine. I've got one on my geared road bike and it's gotten me up to 90 or 95 PSI with ease. 100+ if i put my back into it. It's always done the trick for fixing flats no problem.
