Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2 bikes

Was wondering if other people here use different pedals on their different bikes or do you have the same ones?Right now I have spd's on one and keo's on the other so that also means 2 different shoes.Wonder if it makes any difference?

clips and straps on the MTB since I'm not confident I can unclip fast enough when Im stuck.
Eggbeaters on everything else.

Different pedals on different bikes, but the bikes are for different purposes (road & cross). If I had a 2nd road specific bike, I'd probably use the same pedals.

I use eggbeaters on my MTB and commuting road bike. Keo carbones on the racing bike. I wear spd-compatible sneakers to ride around town so the footwear never overlaps.

You might get better at clipping in if you use one pedal type exclusively, but is that worth spending money on?

I would have the same pedals on both of my bikes if I wanted clipless on both, but I use the other one exclusively on the trainer and to get places now, plus I don't have a lot of money (college student) so I just have cages on that bike.
