Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If my experience of Crank Brothers equipment is anything to go by, they will look good, appear well made, but be useless at what they are intended for (mini pump, candy pedals, egg beaters, the list of their stuff that has let me down just goes on).

I think you're probably in a minority with your bad experience with their pedals. Care to elaborate?

There are only 2 MTB pedals I've really liked over the years; Frogs (once I got used to the float), and Candys because they are easy to use, secure and can be rebuilt.

edit: I really like those wheels. Looks like tubeless?

Someone posted about this a while ago, either after some sort of press release announcing their coming, or perhaps it was just after they started being sold. Not too long after that, someone mentioned that they were going to make a road version. There were some features of that wheel set that were new, the one I remember was the QR had some sort of dual lever release that was supposed to make it easier to take off, while still keeping it tight on the frame.

I think that's why they say tubeless on them.

But yeah, I've only ever had good experiences with CB stuff. I have Candys on my MTB and commuter.

Missed that I have brand new bifocals (curse my advancing middle age!) that I got yesterday. I can't focus on my computer screen through either part of the lens, so I don't wear them except for reading up close and driving.
