Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The people riding those are military police.

I want to know what happens when you try to brake.

Supposedly there will be a website called www.monovelo.com up next month and you can purchase one for just under $2k. I'm guessing shipping will be huge, and good luck if you get a flat.

When I was watching the closing ceremonies and saw that...thing.... I nearly instantly said "I gotta ride one of those. Add it to my stable."

Buddy of mine got to ride one of these after the ceremonies...said it took him about 10mins to get the hang of it...but after that it was easy. Perks of being an olympian.
