So if you tend to burn on average 40 calories a mile. My favorite beer is 160 calories a bottle.

No idea. 90 miles to go before I break even with the cost of the Forge at $1/mile.

438 km (271 miles for those mathematically challenged....of course, I used Google to convert that so what does that say about me????) and am way ahead of last year since I didn't start commuting by bike until April 15 last year (gas was 3.75 then....)

No clue.
I used to keep track of this stuff with daily totals and charts and graphs of trends.
Now I don't even make a note of it monthly. I guess I could work backwards from the odometers and get a total for the last four years... which would be pretty lame.

Not sure what it is since Jan 1st, but I have done around 2500 miles in my first year of cycling (since last April). These are purely commuting miles.

I've ridden 1,637 total miles so far in 2009, about 788 of that while commuting.

Unless I put in some more miles today I'll be at 2,905 whiuch is about 1,000 ahead of where I need to be for my goal this year. Time to change my goal
