C&V bicycles in TV ads

Has there ever been a thread on this forum about C&V bicycles in TV commercials? In the past few months, I have noticed these:

- A commercial for the beer Stella Artois, centering around a bike race -- it's really well done, and its story is recounted at the following site --> https://www.bikingbis.com/blog/_archi...4/4057206.html

- A commercial for www.freecreditreport.com -- one of a series of spots in which a guy sings about his credit problems. In each ad, he is suffering the outcome from having a low credit rating -- working as a greeter in a Red Lobster-style restaurant, driving a junker while cute girls in a new sports car laugh him off, and living in a Renaissance fair. The bicycle-related ad shows him and his friends riding C&V bikes. Can anyone identify the lead bike? I'll guess Raleigh, but the picture doesn't resolve enough for me. --> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAGdU...eature=related

- And just today, I saw one from Zyrtec, in which a nice-looking young woman TALKS to her bike -- kind of like some of the more, er, passionate members of this board -- and apologizes for allowing it to sit and collect dust for so long in between rides while she's been incapacitated by her allergies. You get a good look at her bike seat and rear fender, but not enough for me to identify this one, either. Must be too new to have been captured on YouTube yet.

- And then there's always those wonderful Doublemint Twins on matching bikes. Haven't seen them in ages. *sigh*

The Tandem in the Free Credit Report ad looks like a Rollfast. The singer could be riding A low end schwinn or any number of vintage no-name department bikes

The freecreditreport.com bike is a Raleigh Superbe. The Zyrtec bike looks to be a Chinese Phoenix, but that seat sure isn't standard equipment.

I cannot stand those freecreditreport.com commercials!! SO many things wrong:

In all of the songs he sings that his credit is holding him back:
"it's all because some hacker stole my identity, now i'm in here every evening serving chowder and ice tea"

Now who said having bad credit meant you can't have a decent job??? You can be a surgeon and have terrible credit. FYI, the singer is French Canadian.... I heard that the english singing voice is not him at all.

Here is his site:

I know... totally insane!

Steve Jobs can ruin his credit... but I doubt he will end up at walmart because of it. It comes off as such a lie.

Some companies do credit checks as part of the hiring process...

but from the numbers I have seen, the number that actually do is a very small fraction, and usually only for the higher level positions.

I think the point is, he now has to work evenings at Red Lobster and weekend gigs serving at parties (after his day job at the law firm) to climb out of the financial hole he was left in after the hacker stole his identity and cleaned out his accounts and ran up all of his credit card bills.

Zyrtec Custom

Just checking into the forums to see what kind of comments that Zyrtec bike was getting. Looks like a collection of parts old and new. Something I'd cobble together for my wife, although I'd opt for internal gears instead. Otherwise, that's what I consider a proper commuter.

I really liked this commercial from the very first time I every saw it. I posted about it some time ago in the Utility Forum. As far a C&V goes, if you look really close one of the bikes they show is a Mixte. That commercial made me want to try and hook my boat to my bike just to see if I could pull it.
