Changes will only be seen on the 6.5 and 6.9 Madone.

Trek is trying to differentiate more between the 5 and 6 series Madones, most likely due to lackluster sales of 6 series Madones.

Which is also why you can get a 6.9 DA 7900 Madone for $2800 off MSRP right now (unless your local Trek dealer is a fool and not doing the Trek Pro Deal).

What type of seat-mast/seat-tube did they make it then? I can't tell.

What I can tell is that they lined them up so people would stop complaining... haha.

So that brings the price down to what, $6,000?

For no good reason Trek has never floated my boat...sure it's a fine bike but I don't believe I'd ever own one.

A thinner seat mast pillar? Yeah, there's a good idea...considering Trek is having an issue with them cracking right now! Two guys in our group are waiting for warranty...

Yeah, I agree. I never would have thought I'd have one until the perfect deal presented itself ($1350 for a 3-year-old D/A Madone Project One). It is a great bike, but nothing really stands out on it for me. It sure as hell corners nice on bumps though. Still, it's just kind of "a bike." At any rate, I'm not looking to replace it, and it doesn't keep me off the podium.

These new Madones may look attractive to me when the same Team Six Cat 1 racer decides to sell his team bike in 2013

Yeah, I'd take one for sure if the right deal came along. As it stands, I'd likely not buy one new. Plus I need a new bike like I need a hole in the head.

I try not to use that analogy...otherwise I'd more holes than head

the fact they're overpriced by 10-15% is the biggest turn off.

btw - i'm curious what the freds in the 41 would have to say about horner's spacers.

Is that a powermeter on Lance's crankset? Doesn't look SRM or Quark.

Doesn't have that unique of a look anymore, but I bet the frame weighs in at around 800 grams.

It's an SRM on what is essentially a SRAM S900 crank.
