Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Best Frame for Di2?

Haven't bought a new road bike in 4 seasons, so I'm getting the itch. I think if I do get a new one, I'd like to go with Di2.

I don't intend this to be a debate about Di2, but rather a question about what frames are currently available specifically set up for the wire routing for Di2.

I know there's the Prince and the DOgma from Pinarello, Willier Cento 1, and a Giant TCR optimized for Di2.

What else?

Something about Shimano on a Pinarello has never really seemed quite right to me. Nothing against the gruppo, I ride Shimano myself.

That being said....I know Argon makes a Di2 compatible frameset that is pretty sharp. I've also seen pictures floating around the web of the Madone 6 series bikes which somewhat hide the battery casing. I'm feeling too lazy to attach a picture, but you can track it down with a simple Google search.

Just to throw this out there, a "Di2-specific" frame isn't mandatory to use the group. Your chances of getting a nice frame at a good price goes up if you don't limit yourself.

Good luck - you'll love it.

The best one will have solar panels as part of the frame so you can recharge while riding.

I'm disappointed. 8 posts before someone makes a battery joke. BF is dead. Dead, I say.

A new Di2 group set will work well with my bike's frame. Send me your group set and I'll email you the results.

The Trek Madone.

I only say this because it has a kit to install the battery under the bottom bracket and basically out of sight. Next it also has connections for the internal cable (wire) routing. Basically the Madone has intentional design attributes for Di2 and looks very clean with it.

I'm not a Trek hater or lover, but its hard to fault the US made Madone for looks and performance and Project One option gets great customization. Nevermind any comments you may get about it from certain other people on this thread who did not get warranty satisfaction from a second hand frame. Be the original owner and you are well covered.

Madone 6 series is the way to go for Di2 integration, no ugly wires running down the frame and the battery has a nice holder under the BB.

Yeah, but they're not OUR forests so who cares?

Besides, we're really just trying to bring those poor unfortunates into the First World one tree at a time.

Yes ... although I am not sure that under my BB is where I'd like to have my battery located ...
