Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

anyone use a bathroom scale that connects to your computer

So I was talking with my buddy about how I need a bathroom scale. I see that some scales now have ANT+ to connect with certain garmin watches, and will then transfer it onto your computer when you sync it. I thought that it would be cool if they had bluetooth or something like that where you wouldn't have to use the garmin.

Turns out they have some. One that looks pretty cool is the Withings Wifi Scale. Does fat mass, and transmits it wirelessly to the internet where you can check it out. Only downside is its pricey.

Anyone try out any other ones? I couldn't really find too many out there.

Hi,

I'm interested too, to hear about anyone's experience with the Withings scale or any other similar scale. Especially with respect to the accuracy and repeatability of the body fat measurements.

a few of the TrainingPeaks guru have "tweeted" about using this scale. they sync it to their iPhone then feed the data into their TP online training account. sounds pretty darn cool, but i wonder about these scales. they never seem to be very accurate or even consistent. later.

Wow I guess the days of turning a wheel to make the needle point at zero before getting on and actually having to look at a scale and read it are long gone. Not sure weightbook will ever get as populare as facebook tho...

$159 for a body scale? For the weight measurement, it takes very little to read the number and type it yourself in a spreadsheet or wherever. As for the body fat measurement, it's not very precise. If users want a number and a nice graph, they will get them, but I wouldn't spend that amount of money.
