Check out the latest Paramount (sic) on Ebay!

This is a hoot!

https://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Cruiser-...item43a346869b

At least in the file name for the above photo the seller uses the words "...Fake_Schwinn_Paramount..."

Gotta head to the church. Can't wait to see your reflections on this one.

I agree that the bike is funny, but at least the seller himself is trying to be honest:

"This auction is for a vintage cruiser bicycle. Bike has Schwinn Paramount decals and many original Schwinn parts, but the frame itself is not Schwinn.

Schwinn fork, handlebars, grips, chainring, wheels, and fenders (Repainted)
Bendix Coaster rear hub
Frame tank
Chrome chainguard
Frame is of unknown origin."

He's not honest enough. That crack and hole needs to be stated in writing.

This is an old bike shop in the Midwest. They have some very cool old stuff, but do not know much about it. I've scored some incredible deals on rare small parts from these guys that they will just list on ebay as "bicycle bolt" or something along those lines. So I kind of appreciate the lack of description in their ads. They are fast and reliable sellers as well.

No JB needed. Use Bondo, instead, or duct tape.

Fixing a bent crank or loose bottom bracket must of been overrated back in the day over replacing the frame. I've seen this a lot with older bikes where the crank hits the chainstay over again and again and eventually digs a hole right out of the chainstay. It could of not been that bad originally but left outside and the elements got to it and ate away at it and then someone rode it like that and it cracked. I'm surprised it's not completely detached. Another thing I've seen is where people cut the chainstay to get a chain off. I've seen it on a few bikes. I don't know why they don't just cut the chain over making a bike completely useless. Some people's kids I tell yah....

dang. i hadn't seen that hole in the stay. terrifying. i agree it should've been written in the description, but that picture speaks a thousand words, most of which are (in this case) profanity.
