Bike shorts (or other clothing?) to be modest but minimal

Mountain bike market has offered a number of baggy shorts for cycling,
some include a built in liner short, of the lycra sort, others a separate liner short is needed.
the separate type offer versatility, you can put on a pair of sweat pants without pockets ,
then put the baggys on over them.. warmer legs...
Cheap (#4) hit the charity shops , get baggy shorts there,
they won't be made for cycling, but will be cheaper.

Compression shorts under baggy shorts. I like Under Armor for the compression shorts, and bet you've already got some baggy shorts of your own.

You can't win with TSA. Just go with comfortable for yourself.

That's about the same diameter as a 2-liter soda bottle - the best compression shorts aren't going to do much for hiding that.
Skin-tight bike shorts aren't noted for being modest:
Maybe you could try some running shorts, or if you must, a triathlon skinsuit.

This thread needs more pics! You might ask in SSFG for more info on girl pants, as for the mankini, you're on your own.

I dunno if wearing minimal clothing avoids the pat downs, if that's what you're thinking. I wonder where the pat downs are done. I didn't get one in PDX, PHX or LAS on my recent trips.
Only place I've gotten the air puffer was at MIA. I think MIA's the only place I've been through the X-ray vision deal also.

I think you're out of luck here then. You're choices are either going to be skin tight with a pad in the crotch, skin tight without the pad, or baggy. Many of us wear the skin tight layer under a baggy layer to get the function of the skin tight layer without the attention it can generate when we walk into the office/store/plant.

Oh you're worried about the new paranoid 4th amendment suspended America,
not riding a bicycle?
the woman who wore just a trench coat an a Bikini made the news
Amtrak , take the train, rather than fly.
In Australia, Speedos are called 'Budgie Smugglers', as I understand.

I was on a flight, getting seated, when a guy came through the door wearing skimpy running shorts and a mesh vest. He was a bit overweight and very hairy all over. I was praying that I wouldnt have to sit next to under-dressed gorilla-man for a 6hr flight.
Please have some consideration for common decency. Would you really like to sit next to out-of shape guys wearing skin tight lycra dance-wear revealing their meat and potatos when you are tring to eat an airline meal?

I just ride around in a Mr. Nose thong and nipple cozies, but I tend to ride through west hollywood so I'm not that out of place.

Doubt it will matter. I was discussing this with my B-I-L a week ago. He is a frequent flier (over a million miles on AA alone) and had his first "full grope" at LAX right after Thanksgiving. He was pulled at random as were those ahead of and behind him. He noted that the person ahead was dressed leaving little possibility of hiding anything and received the full grope as did he in his business suit and the 90 yo woman behind him. Only guarantee is to not fly. Other than that, you take your chances.

What's with everyone worrying about getting their "junk" touched? It is a security search, not an offer to buy you a drink. Smile, wink and say "Thank You, but no Thank You!"
Leave your guns at home, and don't bring your "modest" one angry.

They say you have a right to be patted down by someone of the same sex. I think I'd rather get patted down by a member of the opposite sex!
I dunno if other guys are like me, but I have a feeling this splits down the gender barrier such that most women and men would prefer a pat down by a woman and as such all TSA agents should be female.
