Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Tiagra 10 speed 11-25 or 11-28

I am up grading my bike to a 10 speed, I purchased a short cage Tiagra 10 speed RD. My Question is, Can I use a 11-28 cassette with a short cage RD (compact crank)? or just stay with 11-25.

I believe all the Shimano short cages will work up to a 28 tooth cog.

My 2012 Roubaix SL2 came with a short cage RD and a 12-30. Works great.

Just read the Manual, I have a Tiagra ST-4600. Support Largest sprocket 30T smallest sprocket 11T. So I am going to purchase a 12-30. Thanks everybody should have read manual before posting lol.
