Ok guys. My first post is the "what is it post". I think im a certified expert when it comes to bike stuff. But my experience was limited to late 70s and newer stuff.

So. If your willing to help check these out. I do have a feeling that I will be selling some of this if its valuable. I will not accept any offers until I subscribe to the "for sale" portion of this site.

First,, what vintage are these parts from? Click to enlarge the photo.

The barn is officially cleaned out. Its done. I have to figure out what all this stuff is and what its worth. Tons of the old Simplex la Juy Tour de france rear deraileurs. I think there are 7 or 8 of them. some dude on Ebay is trying to get 250 for a new in box...i wish him luck. Its way to vintage for me

That sign will not be for sale. Plus it wouldnt ship. it would break!! Im really digging the viscount dealer sign. that is going up in my bike cave.

Amazing stuff, congrats! I'd be interested in the ARX derailleur if you're selling!

+1 on the neon, that's a very cool piece. I'm pretty sure I've seen one like it before, is there any indication what bike manufacturer it represents?

The gift that keeps on giving..

questions

Why a single campy downtube LEFT hand shifter.?? i have three of them. Cant imagine what thier for. You would think if it was only a five speed that the shifter was on the right.

Campy shifter grippers...Im sure not the italian name

Three grand sport one one ancient record deraileur. Something tells me that is slightly collectable...?? can someone tell me anything about this stuff. its all before my time. im only 46

Oh yeah. there was two huret duo par deraileurs..was was NOS...

I bet the early Simplex stuff and some of the early Campy (RD, hubs) will be big $$ on ebay. On the other hand, some of it (the Valentino RDs) are not even worth small coin. The Campy rubber covers are for the barcons, not a lot of love for those, but...somebody will like. Huret Duopars, again not a big draw but for that certain C&V touring rig...I also don't get the Campy single shifter LH side, the one I have (for a 5-speed) is RH only.
This is a great way to fill many idle hours..I wish I was in your shoes!

I believe the "cycle man in neon" is based on the symbol for cycling events at one of the Summer Olympic games (just guessing here but maybe from Munich '72). After the Olympics it became sort of "generic public domain" and was re-drawn for many other signage and public graphic uses...I guess.

The Campy hubs are Tipos. Not as nice as Records, but a very nice hub, and NOS, even better. The wheels I run on my '73 Schwinn Super Sport are laced to Tipos.

Amazing finds. Is the high flange single speed hub a Schwinn? If so, it is worth big $$$. If you had the matching front, even more!

so the barn is officially cleaned out, and if it wasn't it's not like you'd tell anyone where it is but you could at least tell us some of the story of how you came across such a score!
