Mark Fletcher... Esprit Velo Club...?
Does that name ring a bell with anyone? He was my coach when I was a junior back in the late 80's before I joined the Army. The years were 1985-1987 around Pomona & Bonelli Lake area.
His wife, Becky? They had an infant son named Wesley (aka Junior Birdman). Iggy? Louie? The two Marks? There was also a cool lady named Donna I had a teenaged crush on.
Anyone remember these names?

No dice on the Google. I guess Fletcher's a pretty common name, or maybe Mark died shortly after I joined the Army. His son Wesley Fletcher was a baby back then and he'd be of racing ace about now. His wife Becky was also a sweet, beautiful woman. They were an awesome family and a bright spot in my life during a dark time. No dice on any of them. Wish I could find them.
No chance of big sport for me. I can't even draft off myself anymore.

I was looking someone up and came across your thread.. I do remember and raced for Esprit Velo in the late 80's. I ran the cycling teat at Cal Poly Pomona. Have not heard or seen anything from Mark Fletcher in a long time..

As a matter of fact, I found Mark & Becky! They live up around SLO/Paso area now! I just visited them and they are still awesome! Mark's having a little hip trouble and doesn't ride as regularly, but he's crazy about l'Eroica in Paso and is preparing to ride it again this Spring. I'm scrambling to put together a l'Eroica-worthy ride as a matter of fact. Shoot me a PM and I'll send you their Eddress & contact info.
