Why wasn't I warned?

Ever since I started mountain biking, everything else has become boring. I'm either riding a trail or wishing I was. My other hobbies and interests have fallen a few notches and now I'm posting random crap on the internet because I'm bored.

Also, I wish it would stop raining on or just before weekends.

This stuff happens, nothing can be done to prevent it.

There was a warning label, didn't you read it? Now combine it with other addictions like fishing. Mountain biking back to a remote ranch or beaver pond that no one ever gets to. TOPO maps are a blast to figure out.

Other than one fairly socially acceptable yet illicit activity, mountain biking is all I think about. If it's going to rain on my days off, which it has been the past few weeks, at least it could be warmer than 45 degrees. I'll ride in a little rain, skin is waterproof after all, but 40 degrees and rainy, no. But thats May in Maine, summer's almost here!!

You mean the bit about becoming obsessed with riding and not taking care of the wife and kids as well as you could? The bit about going on a 65 mile ride really early of "childrens day" in Korea because this Sunday is a day when I have no choice but to go to church for my second daughters baptism and I can't get time to get that century in? The warning labels should have been bigger. Now to go and get the gear ready for tomorrows 65 miler...

I have three sports that seem to consume my life at intervals throughout the year: longboarding, kayaking, & mountain biking. Right now I'm split between the boat & the bike. My sister-in-law has a cabin about 5 minutes from the NOC & it's all I can do not to quit my job & go live up there for as long as I could make it...2 miles from awesome kayaking, about 20 minutes from Tsali.

Man, you aren't f**king kidding. It's been like that here for the past month. We'd have a stretch of beautiful days, usually about two, and then, plop, huge thunderstorm during the night washes everything out. Haven't had a legitimately dry stretch yet. I love how green it makes everything, but I can't ride anywhere!!
