Looking for group rides in Irvine, CA- Aug 30th - Sept 1st
I am looking for some group rides during the weekend mentioned above. I lived in Irvine for 5 years so I'm pretty familiar with the area. Since traveling with a bike is expensive and annoying, I will be renting a bike for a LBS. Please let me know what rides are taking place and the details. Thanks.

I've ridden with this group a couple of times. I've done the easy and moderate rides. They are flat to moderately hilly.

I discovered this shop in an industrial park near work. They rent good stuff, and sell Jamis. The owners are MTB focused, but they have road bike stuff too.

BTW, Fidels is now "El Norte". I hear Fidel was involved in a divorce, and he kept Fidels in Solana Beach, and the Ex, got the Carlsbad joint.

This summer there have frequently been two Thursday evening rides from Windrow Park. The OC Rebels website shows at least one ride scheduled for Thursday evening, August 30. The evening routes are not always posted on the website in advance.
A variety of rides are usually scheduled for Saturdays, so you may be interested in joining one of those rides on September 1. Weekend route slips are usually on the website by the preceding Monday or Tuesday.
I think you'll find the OC Rebels are a bunch of fun-loving riders. To join a ride all you need to do is show up and introduce yourself.
Have fun!

Definitely OCRebels as the others have suggested. They have a great variety of routes on both Sunday and Saturday. Really there's a ride for everyone. A nice enough group that I frequently take my son with his trail-a-bike on Sundays.

Tues. and Thur. rides from Windrow Park starting at 6:00 PM sharp. Good routes with a healthy bit of climbing. We try to be back by sunset but bring a red rear flasher and a small headlight in case of delays due to flats or whatever. Last Tues. was 25mi. with 1,400 feet of climbing, for example.
