Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Our riding group did good at local ride

We've ridden together now for 2 years. We started out with 10-15 mile rides averaging 14-16 mph. We kept at it and this year managed one 18 mile ride over 20 mph. We usually ride 23-25 miles around 18.5-19+ mph now.
We had a local ride with a 50K and 100K. I just came off two weekends in a row of doing 100K rides and opted to do the 50K. This event also had a 5 and 10K run. We took:

-1st male 50K
-1st female 50K(4th overall!)
-1st female 100K(15 years old and dropped me on our last 2 rides!)
-1st female 10K run

I know, self-bragging but we are just so proud of our accomplishments over the past two years of getting stronger and the awards were just icing on the cake.

Sorry, I just thought this thread was going to be about how your riding group went and picked up trash along your local route or some other example of good you've all done.
