Giant Defy Advanced SL
Any of you riding one? Would like some feedback from our age group. My current road bike is the TCR Advanced SL. Love the stiffness of the frame, weigh ect. I have a bit of neck pain from a strained upper trap muscle that just nags the crap outta me. Goes away if I lower mandible to chest and stretch my neck somewhat as I ride. Thought maybe the different geometry and more upright position might make it go away. Im 6'2" 190, frame size is L 58 cm TT. 90MM 0 degree stem. suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance Lp

I don't know about the SL, but the Advanced 2 is bike of the year in Cycling Plus/Bike Radar

I ride the Defy Advanced 0, very nice geometry. I'm 5-11, and I have the M/L frame. I also have a Trek Domane Six which is even a bit more relaxed. But both bikes are super comfy on long rides......

Sold my Hi Mod Synapse some time ago. I was a young whipper snapper didnt think I would ever need that endurance geometry! Lp

I have a 2010 Defy Advanced and like it. I'm 6'1" and ride the large. I went with a more upright stem due to an old neck injury. I thought about getting an XL frame but the top tube would be too long for me. YMMV.

I have a 2013 Giant Defy Advanced SL. I have found this to be one of the most sublime bikes I have ever ridden.
Elsewhere I have described it as a wolf in sheep's clothing except it still looks like a wolf. The ride is far more compliant than the TCR and is better than any other bike I have ridden for comfort, even after a full day's riding. The integrated seat post not only saves weight but makes a huge contribution to ride quality. The bike climbs like a goat, or at least it would if it had a better engine. I know several competitive riders prefer this bike to the TCR because of its blend of comfort and performance.

A different bike might make the difference, but in the meantime, have you tried massage therapy? I get frequent upper back/neck problems from my work and regard massages as maintenance.
