Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nice. Think I am buying that for my 12-yo for Christmas. He's been wanting one for skiing for years.

It's really amazing. I just moved here from Boston a few months ago, we don't really have anything like that on the East Coast (MA, NH). The closest I can compare is Kankamagus Loop in NH. The downside is that what goes down must come up (so long descents are followed by steep/long climbs).

Getting better, I've began occasionally starting my morning with a 1200 ft, 4.5 mile climb (about 4.5 - 5% average with sections of 8-9%) right next to where we live (Tunnel Rd, Skyline in Berkeley), gradually getting stronger. The descent in the video is part of a loop called the Skyline loop (39 miles, about 3750 ft of climbing)

I suck on hills but I'm gradually getting better. Today morning went easy on the climb, and went faster than the first time I rode it about 2 months ago going all out (and my HR was 20 beats lower)
