Selle Italia Turbo Reissue staining pants?

I have a Stella Italia Turbo reissue that I got a few months ago and I noticed the first couple times I rode on it that it left a pretty nasty black stain on the seat/crotch of my khakis. Ever since I stained the one pair I've been afraid to ridr on it with any other pants. The stained ones have officially become my "bike pants". My question is for anyone who has this saddle, does it ever reach a point where it will stop staining pants? I'd love to be able to not have to go change every time I want to go for a ride.

Haha, that's true. I love the saddle but hate having to change pants anytime I want to ride. I at least need to get a black pair of pants so I don't look like a dirty homeless person when I'm walking around.

Mine stopped staining once the felt-like surface was smoothed out and absorbed enough butt sweat.

That's why traditional bike shorts are black.

Now that you mention it, my first Brooks did the same thing. I was wearing khaki shorts in those days and they got a black mark on the sitting area. I've been wearing black shorts for the last five years so I wouldn't know if it's happened with my later Brooks.

Reviving this old thread. I have about 1,200 mile on my black Turbo saddle and it still continues to stain my shorts.

Great, hopefully this thing doesn't continue to stain my shorts for the next half a decade.

For anyone who is interested, I thought it might also be worth mentioning that my Selle San Marco Concor, which I otherwise love and is gorgeous, also stains the seat of my pants horribly.

Don't have experience with the B15 Swallow Select, but in my experience (this over the course of several models/saddles, including the standard B15 Swallow), Brooks saddles do NOT stain...

I've got a B17 that disagrees ... which is why I now wear black shorts ... and am not sure whether the other two stain or not.

Wear those stained pants with pride. Über street cred, even better than half-fingered glove tanlines.

Or wear black as the cycling gods intended.

Cover the seat carefully with a one gallon food storage bag. Then position the bag as well as possible, and cover it with a cheap bicycle seat cover. Tuck in the bag carefully and it won't show. You might find the bag moves after a while. If it does tape it to itself and pull it tight. It works well. A cheap grocery shopping bag will work, but they wear out after a while. No big deal, they are free.
