Favorite Generic Headset?

When replacing a (JIS or Italian) 1" threaded headset, do you guys have a favorite source/brand in cases where you're not concerned about originality?

Same here. Glad I bought a bunch of them before I left Trek. But they do need 40mm of stack, so Tange Levin is a great fall-back if there's less than 40mm to work with.

+1 Tange Levin. I don't know if it's just me but in addition to the other positive attributes mentioned, they always seem comparatively easy to adjust.

+3 for Tange (Levin and/or some of the other models, too), can't beat them at their price point, and they are offered with both JIS or ISO crown race, which others often aren't.
I used to think Ritchy Logic was another good, cheap option, but had a few failures with that one...I think VO has some excellent options at a slightly higher price.
Wish the old A9 Stronglight (and variants) with roller bearings was still sold...you can still find a few but the supply is spotty.
