chain keeps popping off
I am new to the fixed gear business, so pardon my naivety. Whenever I ride my bike too hard the chain pops off. It has happened twice; once, the chain jammed the rear wheel and I skidded to a stop, and the other time the chain completely disengaged from the cogs and the rear wheel was left unconnected to the pedals. Any ideas of why my chain is so readily popping off track?

Is the chain breaking or just popping off?
Sounds like you need to learn how to tension your chain. Youtube.

We can't help with so little information.
Perhaps you could tell us what bike, what components?.
A picture of your chainline would also help.

I just thought..
What if one of his chain link joints is too tight, making it stiff?

I run a slacker chain than most Internet sources recommend, and have never once had the chain come off. Is the bike is one of those homebrew conversions where the chainring and cog aren't even close to being lined up with each other?
