It’s very common, especially in volunteer shops. People misalign the tool all the time and end up bending or breaking the pin. Just replace it.

I walk every other day, about four miles and ride the other days. It's a nice recovery and when I visit my mother in the nursing home I'm reminded that having the ability to walk is a big deal.
