This frame encoding has its origins in
Danish bicycle VIN system.
The W stands for “other manufacturers”. HJ for 2013/2014.
At that time, the Nishiki brand was owned by a Scandinavian company....

Nishiki Competition racing bikes were also made for the European market between 1978 and 1990.
They were pure racing bikes and were often ridden by amateurs in competitions.

Please allow me to introduce my Nishiki Olympic.
The frame was built in Kobe/Japan in 1978 for the European market.
I bought this beautiful Nishiki bike in 2020 from a Dutchman.

Ok, the terms 27' and/or 622 may be confusing.
But in reality it makes no difference whether 27' tubular or 622mm...

Yes, technically you can also ride 2x with the smallest chainring on the inside at 74mm and with 46 or 48 at 110mm in the middle.
But ...... it looks like ....... sh.. with the outer chainring...
